On June 23 and 24 Riga public transport will be for free

"Rīgas satiksme" reminds that on June 23 and 24 Riga public transport (buses, trolleybuses, trams) will be available free of charge and will run according to holiday schedules. On June 23 and 24 there will be additional public transport runs, as well as changes in the operation of customer service centres and municipal parking lots.

Additional runs of public transport will be organised in the night of June 23/24. The additional public transport will run all the night long with intervals of approximately ½ hour (or frequently on routes with higher load), to cover as many districts of Riga as possible. Here will be additional runs on tram routes No. 4, 5, 6, 7, 10 and 11, on trolleybus routes No. 9, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22 and 27, on bus routes No. 3, 11, 12/23/26 (combined), 18, 24, 25, 37, 40, 50, 51 and 53.

For passengers’ convenience, in the night of June 23/24 all “Rīgas satiksme” buses running across Akmens Bridge will stop to pick up passengers at public transport stop „Grēcinieku Street”, where trams No. 2, 4, 5 and 10, trolleybuses 9 and 27 and bus No. 22 stop.

Night minibuses will run in the night of June 20/21, 21/22 and 22/23. We remind that free trips do not apply to night minibuses. All night minibuses depart simultaneously from the city centre in round hours, but from districts to the city centre – in half-round hours. The price of one trip for all passengers is EUR 1.50; tickets are only sold by the driver.

On June 23 and 24 pay parking-lots of Riga municipality managed by Rīgas satiksme will be available free of charge, except for the underground parking-lot located next to the House of Congresses, where parking services will be for pay. Customer service centres will be closed on June 23 and 24.

On June 23 and 24 minibuses will run according to Sunday schedules. We remind that on June 23 and 24 passengers of minibuses will have to pay the fare as usually, free trips do not apply to minibuses.

The Retro trams will run also on June 23 and 24, its schedules are available on www.rigassatiksme.lv and at the Retro tram’s stops. We also remind that the price of one trip for all passengers is EUR 1.50; tickets are only sold by the driver.
